As the Creative Director, Kathy plays an essential role in shaping the brand’s signature modern-luxury aesthetic, blending innovation with timeless elegance. Kathy answers our questions below. TGTG: Share a piece of wisdom you are living by at the moment.
SHY: "Think Good and it will be Good! I know it isn't easy, but there is a power to positive thinking!"
"What we are most proud of is the connecting string that is used in every piece of jewelry that we make, it’s this design sensibility combined with our choice of materials and the attention to detail in the finishing touches. It’s the care that goes into the final parts of the creation that make the piece truly special, like a finely tailored dress, when you wear it, it just feels different. You just feel different. That’s what we want, we want the jewelry to make you feel a certain way, comfortable in your skin, beautiful, confident, loved, protected, cool, celebrated, adorned… whatever that thing is for you... Jewelry always made me feel a certain way, the moment I wore a piece I felt different… We hope that we can pass that feeling on when people wear a Shy Creation piece."
TGTG: Tell all: what is a quirky habit or ritual in your creative process?
SHY: "I’m not sure I would call it quirky, but there must be a connection to nature, weather it’s laying under the sun to feel the sunshine soak my eyelids, or walking barefoot on grass to sense the blades of grass on the soles of my feet, it’s the connection to nature helps to clear the mind and give clarity of thought... That, and of course I’m very inspired by artists, so immersing myself in cultural events, going to art shows, being surrounded by creatives really activates my mind."
TGTG: What is a song you’re listening to on repeat right now?
SHY: "Beautiful Things - Benson Boone His Grammy performance was incredible! If you haven't seen it, watch it immediately!

TGTG: What is one piece of jewelry you never take off?
SHY: "An eye necklace, or some sort of amulet for good luck. My grandmother used to always wish her grandchildren good luck when she would see us. So I am obsessed with charms that symbolize luck."

SHY: "Coast of Spain and Paris."
TGTG: Person(s) - past or present you’d invite to dinner and why?
SHY: "Joint dinner with Miuccia Prada and Anna Wintour and Diana Vreeland - all 3. They are all power women in the Fashion world with impeccable taste and vision.
Or Oprah - because she is Oprah."
